Harriet is a medical oncology registrar based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital currently carrying out a PhD in the department of Radiology about novel radionuclides for use in PET imaging in cancer. The work is focussed on demonstrating early response to cancer treatment and more sensitive identification of residual disease following treatment. The team are looking at a radiotracer that can identify cell death following chemotherapy in breast cancer and imaging of CA125 positive tissue in ovarian cancer using a radiolabelled antibody. Another study involves the use of CD8 T-cell PET scanning, which we hope will provide more information regarding treatment of different cancer types with immunotherapy and what radiological, histological and serological indicators predict a better response.
