Nic leads the PathGrid project, an astro-medical initiative applying astronomical image analysis and data handling techniques, in the context of a systems pathology approach, to the analysis of tissue micro arrays and medical microscopy imagery more generally. He is currently collaborating with colleagues in CRUK CI, as a co-I on the IMAXT project, aiding their search for new techniques aimed at the treatment of breast cancer.
