Carlos is Director of the Cambridge Breast Cancer Research Unit; Academic Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology (Breast); Senior Group Leader and CRUK Cambridge Research Unit; Lead, Cambridge Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre. His current research focus is on the functional genomics and its biological and clinical implications. He also has a research programme on the genetics of gastric cancer. His main clinical interest is in breast cancer chemotherapy and novel molecularly targeted therapies.
