100 delegates attended in person with many more from across the world joining on the live stream to enjoy the day’s events.
Varied presentations and breakouts sessions facilitated great conversations, questions and engagement from the delegates which were an interdisciplinary group of AI researchers, clinicians, governance experts, funders, industry leaders, patient representatives, members of the wider public, and UK policymakers
The following Forum and dinner organised by CSaP in partnership with the ICM team continued discussions into the evening bringing policy makers and delegates together.
The main theme of how AI can responsibly and effectively transform cancer care and be adopted into the clinic was debated and many last connections were made so that the conversation can continue and hopefully progress made to benefit patients across CUH.
Speakers included Dr Mike Roberts, Prof Raj Jena, Hannah Richardson, Prof Angela Aristidou, Peter Mills, Adam Igra, Lara Edwards and Prof Sunil Dolwani.
The event was a huge success with delegates stating “I liked the format and the time for honest conversations” as well as enjoying “the number of different perspectives” and hearing “speakers from sectors I don’t usually hear from”. They stated it was “thought provoking”, “eye opening” and felt that the “topic was on point”.
The event was supported with funding from the Cambridge Centre for Data-Driven Discovery and Accelerate Programme for Scientific Discovery, made possible by a donation from Schmidt Futures.
