On Tuesday 8th July the 2025 ICM Symposium – AI in Healthcare: Policy and Governance took place in the beautiful setting of Downing College.
Patient represetatives Ann, Frankie and Lorainne engage in a lively discussion with ICM researchers Professor James Brenton and Drs Ines Machado and Gabriel Funingana on the use of AI in healthcare, hosted by Ellie Wolmark.
The test uses changes to cancer DNA at diagnosis to predict which patients will be resistant to three common types of chemotherapy. This new method could benefit thousands of patients every year by helping them avoid treatments that are less likely to benefit them.
